Linn tonearms:

Linn Akito tonearm
The Linn Akito tonearm The Akito incorporates much of the technology developed for the Ekos tonearm. In order to achieve maximum strength and rigidity, high performance adhesives are used.
The one-piece headshell and the bearing housing are high-pressure die-cast for added strength.
The new larger diameter bearing assembly minimises friction and play. Every detail of the arm has been otpimised. This arm sets new standards of performance at this price level. The Axis turntable will now be supplied with the Akito arm.
Linn Ekos tonearm
The Linn Ekos tonearm The $1995 Ekos (so christened after the French name for Scotland, Ecosseha!) is considerably more expensive than the Ittok LVII ($965); superficially, it resembles the black version of the Ittok that was available for a while by special order. The arm-base even uses the same three-bolt mounting arrangement, but the arm is otherwise almost totally different.
Whereas the Ittok is manufactured in Japan to Linn's specification, with only final quality control taking place in Linn Products' Glasgow headquarters, the Ekos is manufactured and assembled in Scotland, the only Japan-sourced item being the lift/lower device.
Linn Ittok tonearm
The Linn Ittok tonearm By many people's reckoning the Ittok was the world's first superarm. Originally manufactured for Linn by the Denon Parts Company of Japan (no relation to the electronics brand), it was designed by a certain Mr Ito to Linn's specification back in the late seventies. The Tik-Tok (as fans called it) evolved over the years with various detail changes (such as a new counterweight), until it reached its LVIII incarnation in 1989. This last version of the Ittok was undoubtedly the best, featuring Ekos-style glued armtube joints. By this time, the price had risen from the original 230 to over 450.
